I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight.
Isaiah 45:2
Circumstances often bring us to a place where the future looks bleak and the outcome is unknown. Like a shepherd who walks before his flock to make sure the land is safe, God walks before His children to scout out the land and lead them in the right direction. It doesn’t matter what lies ahead of us, He goes before us. As the Israelites were crossing into the Promised Land, they were facing a scary situation. They were walking into a battle they couldn’t win on their own, but they marched with confidence because they knew the One who went before them.
