Introduction: The Secret Place of Divine Favour
Praise the Lord, church! Welcome to our midweek service on this blessed day, the 12th of August, 2026.
We are living in a very powerful time in our church family. This month has been declared as our Month of Unstoppable Restoration and Divine Favour.
When we hear the words unconditional restoration and divine favour, our hearts fill with hope. We think about broken homes being put back together. We think about lost years being returned to us. We think about financial doors opening that no human being can shut. We think about peace taking the place of pain.
But tonight, the Holy Spirit wants us to ask ourselves one very important question: How do we position our hearts to receive this divine favour? How do we live so that God’s restoration flows into our lives without stopping?
The answer is simple: We must Trust, Respect, and Honour God.
Divine favour is not something that happens by accident. Divine favour rests upon the life of a person who gives God His rightful place. When you trust God completely, respect His Holy Word, and honour Him with your daily choices, you step into a spiritual place where trouble cannot destroy you and loss cannot keep you down.
Our anchor scripture tonight is short, but it carries deep power. Let us read Proverbs 19:23 together:
| Proverbs 19:23 — “The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.” |
In simple everyday language, “the fear of the Lord” does not mean being afraid that God will hurt you or destroy you. God is a loving Father! “The fear of the Lord” means having so much respect, reverence, and trust for God that you do not want to take a single step in life without Him. It means loving God so deeply that His opinion matters more to you than any human opinion on earth.
Look at the three wonderful promises packed inside this single verse:
- It leads to life — true life, real joy, and abundant spiritual health.
- It gives rest and contentment — deep, quiet peace inside your heart, even when the world around you is noisy.
- It protects you from trouble — God sets a hedge of protection around your home, your family, and your mind.
Tonight, let us break down Proverbs 19:23 into four simple, heart-touching truths that will open the doors of divine favour and unstoppable restoration in your life.
Subtopic 1: Respecting God Means Putting Him First
Proverbs 19:23 begins with the words: “The fear of the Lord…”
What does it really mean to respect and honour God in our everyday lives?
Respect is not just something we say with our mouth when we sing songs on Sunday. Respect is a lifestyle. Respecting God means that God gets the first place and the highest place in every area of your life.
- Putting God First in Your Decisions
Before you make a big decision in life, do you stop to ask God what He thinks?
- Before you accept a job, do you pray?
- Before you start a relationship, do you ask God for guidance?
- Before you make a financial investment or buy a house, do you seek His will?
When you respect God, you do not make your own plans first and then ask God to stamp His blessing on them. Instead, you go to God first and say, “Lord, what do You want me to do? My life belongs to You.”
- Respecting His Word
Respecting God means respecting what God has written in the Bible. When the Bible says to forgive, a person who honours God chooses to forgive, even when it hurts. When the Bible says to walk in honesty, a person who respects God refuses to lie or cheat, even when everyone else is doing it.
When you show deep respect for God’s Word, God shows deep respect for your prayers. Jesus said in John 15:7, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” That is where divine favour begins!
Subtopic 2: Trusting God Brings Rest in a Restless World
The second part of Proverbs 19:23 says: “…then one rests content…”
Look around the world today. So many people are exhausted. So many people lie awake at 2:00 AM every night with their hearts pounding because of worry:
- Worry about paying bills and rent.
- Worry about medical reports and sickness.
- Worry about the future of their children.
- Worry about job security.
Worry is heavy. Worry drains your strength. Worry steals your smile.
But notice what the Bible promises to the person who trusts and respects God: they will rest content.
What Does It Mean to Rest Content?
Contentment does not mean you have no problems. Contentment means you know your Heavenly Father is bigger than any problem you will ever face.
- Contentment says: “I don’t know how this bill will be paid, but I know my God is Jehovah Jireh, my Provider.”
- Contentment says: “The doctor’s report sounds scary, but I know my God is Jehovah Rapha, my Healer.”
- Contentment says: “My life feels messy right now, but this is the Month of Unstoppable Restoration, and my God is putting everything back together!”
When you trust God, you can sleep like a baby in the middle of a storm. Remember Jesus in the boat during the giant storm on the Sea of Galilee? The disciples were screaming in fear, but Jesus was asleep on a pillow! Why? Because He trusted the Father completely.
Tonight, God wants to take the heavy backpack of worry off your shoulders and replace it with His heavenly rest.
Subtopic 3: Honouring God Protects You from Trouble
The final part of Proverbs 19:23 gives us a strong shield of promise: “…untouched by trouble.”
Does this verse mean that a believer will never face challenges? No. Jesus Himself said in John 16:33 that in this world we will have tribulations, but we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.
What “untouched by trouble” means is that trouble will not have the final say over your life. Trouble may knock on your door, but it cannot move into your house. Trouble may touch your body, but it cannot destroy your soul or steal your destiny.
The Shield of Divine Protection
When you walk in honor, respect, and trust toward God, God builds an invisible spiritual perimeter around you:
- In your health: Sickness may attack, but divine healing restores you.
- In your finances: The enemy may try to cause loss, but divine favour brings double restoration.
- In your mind: Depression and anxiety may try to settle in, but the peace of God which passes all understanding keeps your heart guarded.
When you honour God, God personally steps in to fight your battles. Psalm 91:7 says, “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.”
This is what it means to be untouched by trouble. The trouble that breaks other people will not break you, because the hand of the Almighty God is holding you up!
Subtopic 4: How Honour Unlocks Unstoppable Restoration
We cannot talk about Proverbs 19:23 without connecting it directly to our monthly theme: Unstoppable Restoration and Divine Favour.
Restoration means taking something that was broken, ruined, lost, or stolen, and bringing it back in a better condition than it was before.
Why Does Honour Unlock Restoration?
Think about how relationships work on earth. If you give a precious, expensive gift to someone and they throw it on the floor, break it, and mock you, will you give them another gift? Of course not!
But if you give a gift to someone and they weep with gratitude, take good care of it, and thank you with all their heart, you want to bless them even more.
God works in a similar way. Honour is the soil where miracles grow.
- When you honour the little God has given you now, He entrusts you with much more.
- When you respect God’s presence, His presence abides with you continuously.
- When you trust God in the dark, He leads you straight into His glorious light.
Unstoppable restoration happens when a child of God says: “Lord, even if I lost years, even if I made mistakes, even if people hurt me, I will keep trusting You. I will keep respecting Your Word. I will keep honouring You with my mouth, my money, my body, and my life.”
When God sees that kind of faith, He commands restoration to flow like a mighty river that no devil in hell can stop!

The Challenge: Examining Our Hearts Before God
As we prepare to close our message tonight, let us take a quiet moment to look inside our own hearts. Let us be completely honest with God.
Ask yourself these three personal questions:
- Am I truly respecting God with my life? Is there any area of secret sin, compromise, or disobedience that I have been holding onto? Have I been honouring God only on Sundays, or am I honouring Him on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as well?
- Have I been letting worry steal my rest? What burden am I carrying tonight that I should have handed over to God weeks ago? Why am I trying to solve problems in my own human strength when I have a Heavenly Father who cares for me?
- Am I ready to receive Unstoppable Restoration? Are you willing to say tonight: “Lord, I turn away from my past mistakes. I turn away from self-reliance. I choose to trust, respect, and honour You from this day forward!”
Tonight, 12 August 2026, can be the turning point of your entire year. The moment you shift your posture to divine respect and total trust, God shifts your circumstances into divine favour!
Altar Call & Prayer of Surrender
If you are listening to this message right now and:
- You have never given your heart to Jesus Christ, OR
- You used to walk with God, but you drifted away into the world and want to come back home tonight, OR
- You are carrying heavy worry, fear, and trouble, and you desperately need God’s peace and restoration in your life…
This moment is for you. God loves you so much. He brought you to this service on this specific Wednesday night not to judge you, but to heal you, save you, and restore you.
Please place your right hand over your heart right where you are, or step forward boldly to the altar as we pray together.
Salvation and Rededication Prayer
Pray these simple, heart-touching words out loud from the bottom of your heart:
| “Lord Jesus, I come to You tonight just as I am. I acknowledge that I need You in my life. Forgive me for all my sins, my mistakes, and the times I have failed to honour You. Tonight, I put my complete trust in You. I believe in my heart that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me life. I open the door of my heart and I invite You to be my Lord and my Personal Savior. Teach me to respect Your Word, trust Your love, and honour You with every breath I take. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for restoring my soul. In Jesus’ precious and holy name I pray, Amen!” |
Final Prayer of Blessing Over the Congregation
“Father Heaven, in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I lift up every precious person gathered here tonight on this 12th day of August 2026.
Lord, according to Your sacred Word in Proverbs 19:23, let the fear and respect of the Lord rest heavily upon every heart in this sanctuary. Where there has been worry, release Your divine rest and contentment right now.
In this Month of Unstoppable Restoration and Divine Favour, let Your people experience double restoration! Restore their broken health, restore their marriages, restore their finances, restore lost joy, and restore every year that the enemy tried to steal away.
Keep them untouched by trouble, Lord. Build a wall of Holy Ghost fire around their homes, their children, and their daily labor.
May Your divine favour go before them this week. Open doors that no human being can shut, grant them speed where they have been delayed, and let their lives shine brightly as a living testimony of Your goodness!
In the glorious and matchless name of Jesus Christ we have prayed with thanksgiving, Amen and Amen!”
God bless you richly, everyone! Walk in trust, walk in respect, and walk in honour this week!
