We laid down our heavy invisible backpacks, watched doors swing open that no human hand could open, drank from living streams in the wilderness, and ended the month receiving heavenly food under our broom trees, crowned with supernatural victory.
Now, as we cross the threshold into September, the Holy Spirit is releasing a fresh, powerful decree over your life: This is a month of Divine Acceleration!
Perhaps you look back over this year and feel that progress has been slow. You may feel that you have waited so long for answers to your prayers, that you have sown seeds in tears for months and years, and yet the harvest seems far off in the distant horizon. You may feel like time is slipping away, and you wonder how your dreams will ever come to pass. But I bring you heavenly news today: our God is the master of time! When God decides to move in divine acceleration, what naturally takes years can happen in a single day.
Divine acceleration means God speeds up His divine promises in your life. It means supernatural momentum where the waiting is cut short, where setbacks become setups, and where God’s blessing runs faster than human logic. In Amos 9:13, the prophet painted an astonishing picture of heavenly speed: the plowman overtakes the reaper! The harvest comes so fast and so heavy that before you even finish planting, the blessing is already ripe for gathering. Get ready in your spirit today, because the delays of your past are breaking, and God’s supernatural speed is overtaking your life!
Part 1: The Harvest That Overtakes the Plowman
To understand the beauty of divine acceleration, we must look at what God describes in Amos 9:13. In ancient agriculture, there was always a long, quiet, and exhausting gap between planting and harvesting. The plowman would spend weeks breaking up the hard, dry soil. Then, seeds were dropped into the ground. After that came months of waiting, watering, hoping, and watching for rain. Only after many long seasons could the reapers finally walk into the fields with sickles to gather the grain.
Human life usually follows that same slow pace. You work hard, you wait for years, and you take small, painful steps forward. But when divine acceleration enters your life, God completely collapses the waiting gap! Amos says, “The plowman shall overtake the reaper.” Imagine the farmer plowing the ground, and before he can even reach the end of the field, the crops have already sprouted, blossomed, and produced a full, golden harvest right behind him! The person harvesting is bumping into the person who is just beginning to plant.
This means that in this month of September, you will not have to wait years to see the fruit of your prayers. The seeds of faith, obedience, and service that you planted in tears during the difficult days of January to August are suddenly going to produce a rapid, overflowing harvest. Divine acceleration does not bypass the work; it supercharges the results by the Holy Spirit.
You may have thought you missed your chance or that you were ten years behind where you ought to be. But when God’s speed touches your life, He restores lost time. Joel 2:25 promises that God restores the years the locusts have eaten. God does not just give back what was lost; He multiplies the speed of your recovery. Where there was once frustrating waiting and silence, there will now be a sudden burst of divine favor and answers that take your breath away!
Part 2: Sweet Wine Dripping from the Mountains
The second half of Amos 9:13 gives us another vivid picture: “The crusher of grapes him who sows seed; and sweet wine will drip from the mountains.” Crushing grapes is the final stage of wine production. It represents pure joy, celebration, and the sweet reward of hard labor. Sowing seed represents the beginning of the journey. When God says the crusher of grapes will overtake the one sowing seed, He is saying that joy will meet you before you even complete your journey!
Many believers have lived with a spirit of constant struggle. They believe that joy is always reserved for the distant future, after all problems are solved. They tell themselves, “Someday, when I finish school, when I pay off this debt, or when my family changes, I will finally be happy.” But divine acceleration brings tomorrow’s joy into your today! God causes sweet wine to drip from the mountains of your life right now.
Mountains in the Bible often represent heavy obstacles, steep challenges, and dry, rocky problems. Naturally speaking, grapes do not grow well on barren, rocky mountain peaks. Yet God says that sweet wine will flow down from those very mountains! The biggest challenges you faced this year—the situations that looked completely barren, hard, and painful—are the exact places where God is releasing His sweetest blessings and testimonies.
Do not allow the enemy to convince you that your mountain is a dead end. In this month of September, God is turning your rocky mountains into fountains of joy. When divine acceleration is at work, you do not have to struggle for every drop of blessing; His favor begins to drip and flow freely from every direction. Prepare your heart to celebrate, because the sweet wine of God’s goodness is about to flood your home!
Part 3: From the Secret Place to Overnight Promotion
We see powerful examples of divine acceleration throughout the Word of God. Think of David. For years, he was a forgotten shepherd boy in the wilderness of Bethlehem, smelling like sheep and overlooked by his own family. He spent years in the quiet fields practicing his sling and singing praises to God. Yet, in a single day, he was sent to deliver bread to his brothers at the battlefield, faced Goliath, defeated the giant, and by evening, the entire nation was singing songs about him! In less than twenty-four hours, divine acceleration propelled David from the sheep pen to national leadership.
Think of Joseph. He went to sleep on a cold stone floor inside an Egyptian prison, forgotten by the cupbearer and labeled as a slave. But the next morning, Pharaoh had a dream that no magician could interpret. Joseph was called out of the dungeon, shaved, dressed in royal robes, interpreted the dream by God’s wisdom, and by that afternoon, Pharaoh placed the royal ring on his finger and made him prime minister over the greatest empire in the world! That is divine acceleration. What took years of preparation culminated in a single day of promotion.
You may feel hidden today. You may feel like you are doing your faithful duty in obscurity, serving quietly in your church, working diligently at your job, and praying alone in your room. Do not grow weary in well-doing! Your hidden season is not wasted time; it is your preparation ground. When God’s clock strikes the hour of your acceleration, He will lift you up so quickly that no human force can stop it. God is ready to turn your years of hidden faithfulness into an overnight testimony of His grace!
Part 4: Girding Your Loins to Run with God
What should your posture be in a season of divine acceleration? The Bible teaches us that supernatural momentum requires unwavering alignment with God’s Spirit. In 1 Kings 18:46, we read about Elijah after his prayer for rain: “Yahweh’s hand was on Elijah; and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” King Ahab was riding in a royal chariot pulled by the finest desert horses. Elijah was on foot. Yet, because the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah, he outran the chariot across the muddy plains!
Human speed relies on horsepower, human intellect, wealthy connections, and bank balances. But divine acceleration relies on the hand of the Lord! When the hand of God rests upon your life, you can run on foot and outrun every chariot of natural limitation. You can outrun the limitations of your background, the lack of resources, and the delays caused by sickness or past mistakes.
To run with divine speed, you must tuck in your cloak, just like Elijah did. In biblical times, tucking your cloak meant gathering the loose, long fabric around your waist so you would not trip while running. Spiritually speaking, it means getting rid of every weight that slows you down! You must cast aside ungodliness, bitterness, negative talking, and doubt. You cannot run at God’s speed if your feet are tangled up in yesterday’s unforgiveness or tomorrow’s worry.
Set your focus completely on Jesus Christ. Believe what He says about your future. Speak words of faith, walk in pure obedience, and expect God’s favor to carry you forward. As you align your life with His Word, the Holy Spirit will breathe supernatural wind into your sails, and you will outrun every obstacle in your path!
A Call to Action: Break Agreement with Delay!
Now that you have heard the glorious promise of Amos 9:13, the question for your heart today is simple: Are you ready to step into God’s speed? You cannot enter a season of divine acceleration while clinging tightly to a spirit of delay and spiritual laziness!
I challenge you today to break agreement with every negative thought that says, “Good things take too long for me,” or “I will never catch up with my life.” Stop measuring God’s ability by your calendar or your bank account! When you limit God to natural timing, you dishonor His supernatural power.
Shake off the dust of complacency and doubt! Rise up early to seek the Lord in prayer. Open your Bible and declare God’s promises over your children, your career, your finances, and your health. Start moving with holy expectation. Prepare your storage barns, enlarge your vision, and take bold steps of faith. When you prepare for the harvest, God will ensure that the harvest overtakes you! Step boldly into this month expecting sudden breakthroughs and miraculous turnarounds!
Altar Call: The Greatest Acceleration of All
Before you can experience God’s speed in your circumstances, you must first experience His salvation in your heart. The greatest acceleration of all is when a sinner is transferred in a single second from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light!
If you are reading or listening to this message and your heart feels far away from God, do not wait another day. You have tried to run the race of life on your own human energy, and your soul is tired and empty. Jesus Christ loves you with an everlasting love. He stretched out His arms on the cross, shed His holy blood for your sins, and rose victoriously from the grave. Today, He invites you to come just as you are.
Pray this simple prayer from the bottom of your heart right now:
“Lord Jesus, I come to You today with an open heart. I admit that I am a sinner and have lived in my own strength. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. Forgive all my sins, wash me clean with Your precious blood, and make me a new creation. I receive You today as my personal Lord and Savior. Take my life and lead me into Your perfect will.
