Sermon Title: God Will Do Amazing Things
Subtitle: Stepping Forward and Encouraging Each Other
“Sanctify yourselves. Tomorrow God will work miracle-wonders among you.” Joshua 3:5
Introduction
Welcome, church family. It is the last Sunday of April 2026. We have made it through the first four months of the year together. Today, I want to ask you a simple but important question: Do you know that God is right beside you? Many of us carry heavy burdens alone. We forget that the Creator of the universe is with us. When you truly understand this, everything changes. If God is with you, you can face any problem. Think about Joshua in the Bible. He had to lead his people into a new land. God told him, “I am with you as I was with Moses.” God is saying the same thing to you today. Today, we are going to look at how God works with us. God is ready to do amazing things, but we have a part to play too. We also have a job to encourage each other along the way. We cannot walk this journey alone. Let this morning give you hope, so you can share that hope with the people around you.
- The Promise of God’s Presence
Our first topic is a beautiful and simple truth. God is always with us every single day. When Joshua had to take over for Moses, he probably felt very scared. Moses was a great leader. He did amazing things. But God gave Joshua the best comfort possible. God said, I am with you. He is saying the exact same thing to us today. Do you feel God right now? Maybe you are facing a hard sickness. Maybe you lost your job. Maybe you feel very lonely inside. In dark times, we sometimes feel like God forgot us. But that is simply not true at all. God is always there. His constant presence is our greatest strength in this wild world. Because He is with us, we do not need to be afraid of anything. We can face tomorrow with a big smile and a brave heart. But we also need to help our friends see this truth. We must encourage others. When someone sitting next to you is crying, remind them that God is near.
We need to build a kind church where we always encourage each other. We must use prayer and sweet words to lift each other up. When you know God is with you, you stop walking with your head looking down at the dirt. You walk with confidence. You walk like a child of the King. Let us remind each other every single day this week about this promise. God is walking right beside you in the grocery store. He is beside you in the hospital room. He is beside you in your car. He never leaves your side. We must tell this to the people who are tired. We must be the voice of hope for them. If your friend is scared of the future, hold their hand. Tell them that the Maker of the stars is watching over them. It is so easy to focus on our big problems. The bills pile up. The news is bad. But we must look past the storm. We must look at Jesus. We need to be strong for each other. When my faith is weak, I need you to encourage me. When your faith is weak, I will encourage you. This is how the family of God works. We walk together. We never leave anyone behind. So, open your eyes to the people around you. See their pain. See their worry. Step in and offer a kind word. Remind them of Joshua. Joshua was just a man, but with God, he was a hero. We are just ordinary people, but with God, we can do wonderful things. His presence makes all the difference in our lives. Keep this truth deep inside your heart today. Share it with your neighbors. Share it with your family. God is here. God is working. God is loving us. Let us walk forward together, hand in hand, trusting completely in His promised presence each and every single day forever and always amen.
- Get Ready Together
Our second topic is about getting ready. God is going to do big miracles. But He asks us to prepare ourselves first. Joshua told the people to get ready because tomorrow God will do amazing things. What does it mean to get ready today? It means cleaning up our lives. It means stopping our bad habits. It means asking for forgiveness. It means making room for God in our busy days. God wants to bless us so much. But He needs us to have clean hearts. We must also help each other get ready. We cannot do this alone. If you see a brother struggling, gently help him. Do not judge him. Do not talk badly about him. Encourage him with a kind heart. Preparation also means taking action right now.
If you are praying for a new job, are you learning new skills? If you are praying for better friendships, are you being kind to others? Faith always means taking steps forward. Let us spend this week getting our hearts completely ready. Let us encourage each other to leave behind bad choices. When we prepare together, we grow stronger together. Think about a big family dinner. Everyone helps out. One person cooks. One person cleans. One person sets the table. We must be like that family. We must prepare for the miracles as a team. God loves unity. God loves when His children work hand in hand. Do you know someone who is stuck in a bad place? Call them on the phone today. Tell them God has a great plan for their life. Help them clean out the mess. Sometimes, people just need a little push. They need someone to believe in them. You can be that special person. You can be the voice of God in their ear. Getting ready is not always fun. It can be hard work. But the reward is so very great.
God promises that if we prepare, He will move. He will show up. He will change our situations. So, do not be lazy in your faith. Wake up early. Read your Bible. Pray with a loud voice. Sing a happy song. And as you do these things, bring others along. Invite a friend to church next week. Tell them to come and see what God is doing. We are a family getting ready for a big blessing. We are a church preparing for rain. Let us lift each other up higher and higher. Let us stand together. We will see the goodness of the Lord in our lives. We will step into tomorrow with clean hands and pure hearts. Keep encouraging everyone you meet. Keep preparing the holy path for our great and mighty God every single day forever and always until He finally returns for all of us in His perfect timing to bring us back safely home to heaven with Him forever and ever without any end to His amazing grace and true endless peace for all time amen.
- God Will Provide
Our third topic is about how God provides for us in totally impossible situations. In the Bible story, the deep river was flooded and very dangerous. There was no normal way to cross it at all. But God stopped the water and made a safe dry path for them. God still does this exactly today. When life says there is no way forward, God makes a brand-new way. His help is never stopped by bad news or empty bank accounts. God also provided for Joshua by showing everyone that he was a very good leader. Joshua did not have to brag or push himself to the front. God lifted him up at the perfect time.
When you trust God, you do not have to force things to happen. You do not have to fight for attention from people. God will put you exactly where you need to be. And when God opens a big door for you, you must use it to bless and encourage others. If God has blessed you with peace, please share that peace today. Do not worry about the deep waters in front of you. God will part the river and provide everything you need. But remember, God often uses us to provide for other people. You might be the exact miracle someone else is praying for right now. If you have extra food, give it away. If you have extra time, sit and listen to a sad friend. We encourage others by sharing our blessings freely. Do not hold tightly to your money. Do not be selfish with your joy.
When you give freely, God fills your cup right back up. Think about a person who feels very lost today. They feel like they are drowning in the deep river. You can throw them a rope. You can tell them that God makes a way. Sometimes the best provision is just a loving hug from a true friend. Be that true friend for someone this week. Smile at strangers. Help your neighbors with their heavy bags. Let your life be a living picture of God providing. We serve a very generous God who loves us deeply. He gives us the sun and the rain. He gives us the breath in our lungs. Since He gives us so much, we must give to others. Encourage the weak by reminding them of all the times God provided in the past. Tell them stories of His great love.
Remind them that God never changes. What He did yesterday, He can easily do tomorrow. Trust in His mighty hand. Share His sweet provision with a glad heart. Keep encouraging the broken people to look up and simply trust Him every single beautiful day of their entire lives forever and ever because His love is truly perfect and completely real for every single one of us today and forever and always without any end to His amazing grace and endless perfect peace for all of time forever and amen.
- Trust Only in God
Our final topic is about putting all our trust in God alone. When the people finally reached the new land, the daily bread from heaven stopped. For forty long years, God gave them just enough food for each day. This taught them to trust Him, not just trust their food supply. When they entered the new land, the way God fed them changed, but God was still the provider. We often try to build huge walls of money to feel safe. We want to see our bank accounts full so we never have to walk by faith. But God wants to be our true security. When things in your life change very fast, do not panic. Maybe a job ends suddenly. Maybe a good friend moves away. God is just moving you into a new season.
Even when life is very good, keep your eyes on Jesus. Do not let your blessings become more important than God. And as you learn to trust God completely, you must teach others to do the same. Comfort those who are scared of big changes. Remind them that God never ends His love. We live in a world that is always afraid. People worry about tomorrow every single day. But we are called to be very different. We are called to have total peace. Show the world what true trust looks like. When bad things happen, do not complain. Instead, praise God loudly. This will completely shock people in a good way. They will ask you why you are so calm. Then you can encourage them by sharing your faith. Tell them that your trust is built on a solid rock. That rock is Jesus Christ. Money can disappear fast. Jobs can be lost. But God remains forever. Stand firm on this simple promise.
Reach out to someone who is crying over a lost job. Pray with them for a new start. Encourage them to keep looking at the cross. Do not let your friends give up hope. Walk beside them in the dark valley. Let your strong trust be a bright light for their tired feet. We are a family that leans on God together. We do not lean on our own understanding anymore. We trust the Lord with all our hearts. So let go of your heavy worries today. Place them safely in His big strong hands. He is fully capable of holding all your fears. Smile at the future. Encourage the people sitting next to you right now. Tell them God is entirely in control of everything. Trust Him completely and watch Him do amazing wonderful things in your life and in the lives of the precious people around you every single beautiful day from this exact moment forward into all eternity because His promises are always completely true forever and ever without any end to His glorious endless perfect wonderful amazing love for all of us here together completely united in absolute total peace forever and always forever and amen.
This Week Reflection
As we start a new week, I want you to think about how you can encourage someone else. We know God is with us, so let’s share that good news. Ask yourself: Who in my life is trying to fight their battles alone? Who is tired? Reach out to them. Also, think about how you are getting ready.
Are there bad habits you need to drop? Be honest with yourself. Finally, look at where you place your trust. Are you trusting your money or your job more than God? Write down three ways you can trust God more this week, and choose one person to encourage with a kind message or a prayer.
Deliverance Session
Right now, we are going to pray for freedom. In the name of Jesus, we say no to fear, worry, and sadness. You are not meant to live trapped by bad thoughts or heavy burdens. We break the chains of thinking you have to do everything on your own.
God is with you. Let the healing power of the Holy Spirit wash over your tired mind. We pray that any block in your way will be removed. You are free, you are loved, and you are clean. Receive this peace today, so you can walk out of these doors and be a strong light of encouragement to your friends, your family, and your community.
Altar Call
Before we leave, let’s look at our own hearts. We have talked about crossing rivers and seeing miracles. But the biggest miracle of all is knowing Jesus personally.
Maybe you came here today feeling heavy with mistakes and guilt. You have been trying to fix your life by yourself, but it is too hard. You cannot do it alone. Jesus came down, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross to wash away all our mistakes.
If you have never asked Jesus to be the leader of your life, today is the perfect day. Do not wait. If you are tired of running, come to the front right now. Let today be the day your life changes for the better. We are waiting for you with open arms to encourage you and welcome you into the family.
Challenging Session
Church family, before we close, I have a challenge for you. We love hearing that God will do amazing things, but sometimes we are too scared to take the first step. My challenge to you is this: Stop relying on the comfortable past.
God is calling you to step forward. You cannot keep using old mistakes or fears as excuses. You also cannot keep your faith to yourself. I challenge you to step up and be an encourager. Who are you lifting up? Who are you helping?
Stop playing it safe. Trust that God is with you, step into the water, and pull someone else along with you. Be brave, be kind, and trust God completely.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come to You today with very thankful hearts. We know You are always with us, just like You were with Joshua. Because You are with us, we can face absolutely anything today. Lord, help us to be kind people who encourage others. Show us who needs a sweet word, a helping hand, or a warm prayer this week. Help us to get our hearts completely ready for the good things You are going to do. Clean out our bad habits and our silly pride. We thank You for always providing for us. When the rivers in our lives are too deep, we simply trust You to make a safe way. Help us to stop trusting in money or our own weak strength, and to put all our trust in You alone. Give us the great bravery to step forward in big faith and to loudly cheer each other on. Use our small voices to bring massive hope to the sad people walking around us. Fill our whole church with Your bright perfect love. Let us hold hands and walk completely together into the beautiful future You promised. We praise Your holy name today. Thank You for hearing our simple prayers right now. In the beautiful and strong name of Jesus Christ, we pray and believe for these amazing miracles every single day from this moment forward into eternity forever and always without any single doubt in our full hearts today praising You forever and ever Amen.
God bless abundantly.
