Sunday Sermon: God Will Hear My Prayers
October 26, 2025
Month of God’s Harvest and Breakthrough.
Scripture: Micah 7:7
Introduction
As we gather on this last Sunday of October 2025, we celebrate the Month of God’s Harvest and Breakthrough. The prophet Micah faced darkness, betrayal, and national decline, yet he made a powerful declaration: “But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me” (Micah 7:7).In times of uncertainty and waiting, Micah chose unwavering faith. He didn’t question whether God would hear—he declared with confidence that God will hear. This morning, we embrace this same certainty. Your prayers are not lost in the vastness of the universe; they reach the throne of the Almighty. When circumstances seem overwhelming and answers appear delayed, remember that God’s timing is perfect. He hears every whispered prayer, every silent cry, every heartfelt plea. As we close this month, we position ourselves for divine harvest and breakthrough, knowing that the God who planted good seeds in our lives during seasons of tears is faithful to bring forth the harvest with songs of joy.
- The Certainty of God’s Hearing
Micah’s declaration wasn’t wishful thinking—it was faith-filled certainty rooted in God’s character. When the prophet said “my God will hear me,” he spoke from a relationship of trust and experience. God’s hearing isn’t conditional on our eloquence or perfect circumstances. He hears because He is attentive, compassionate, and faithful to His covenant. The Psalmist confirms this truth: “The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord accepts my prayer” (Psalm 6:9). Unlike human listeners who may be distracted or indifferent, God’s ears are always open to His children’s cries.
Consider the testimony of Hannah, who prayed silently in her anguish. Though Eli the priest misunderstood her, God heard every word of her heart (1 Samuel 1:13). Consider blind Bartimaeus, whose persistent cry moved Jesus to stop and respond (Mark 10:46-52). God’s hearing transcends our circumstances, our past failures, and our present struggles. He isn’t limited by time zones or overwhelmed by the volume of prayers ascending from earth. Your prayer matters because you matter to Him. This October, as we celebrate harvest and breakthrough, stand firmly on this truth: God will hear your prayers because He loves you unconditionally and desires relationship with you.
- Waiting with Expectation, Not Resignation
Micah combined two powerful actions: watching expectantly and waiting patiently. This isn’t passive resignation or defeated hope—it’s active anticipation. When you wait expectantly for the Lord, you position yourself like a watchman scanning the horizon for the first sign of dawn. You’re alert, ready, and confident that what you’re waiting for will come. Abraham waited expectantly for Isaac. Moses waited expectantly at the burning bush. The early church waited expectantly in the upper room, and the Holy Spirit came with power.
Waiting with expectation transforms your prayer life from religious duty into dynamic partnership with God. It means believing that while you pray, God is working behind the scenes, arranging circumstances, preparing people, and timing everything perfectly for your breakthrough. Habakkuk 2:3 encourages us: “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come.” Your harvest season isn’t canceled because answers seem delayed. God’s delays are not denials; they’re divine setups for greater glory. This month’s breakthrough may not look exactly as you imagined, but trust that God’s plan surpasses your expectations. Keep watching, keep waiting, keep believing—your God will hear you.
- The God of Your Salvation Acts
Micah specifically calls God “the God of my salvation.” This personal declaration reminds us that the same God who saved us is the God who sustains, delivers, and brings breakthrough. Salvation isn’t just a past event; it’s an ongoing relationship with a God who continuously rescues His people. He saved you from sin’s penalty, He’s saving you from sin’s power, and He will save you from sin’s presence. This comprehensive salvation extends to every area of your life—spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational.
Throughout Scripture, we see God as the Deliverer who acts on behalf of His people. He delivered Israel from Egyptian bondage, Daniel from the lion’s den, and Peter from prison chains. He hasn’t changed. The God who parted the Red Sea can make a way through your impossibilities. The God who brought dead Lazarus from the tomb can resurrect your dead dreams. As we enter the harvest season, expect the God of your salvation to act decisively in your situation. He specializes in last-minute rescues, unexpected provisions, and supernatural turnarounds. Your breakthrough isn’t dependent on your strength or strategy—it rests on His faithfulness and power. Trust that the same God who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).
- Positioning Yourself for Harvest and Breakthrough
This final Sunday of October marks a crucial moment—the transition from planting and waiting to harvesting and receiving. You’ve sown seeds with tears, prayed through difficult seasons, and remained faithful when circumstances tested your faith. Now it’s time to position yourself for breakthrough. Positioning means maintaining your confession of faith like Micah did. When everything around him crumbled, he declared, “But as for me…” This personal determination to trust God regardless of circumstances is essential.
Positioning also means preparing to receive. Don’t let past disappointments or delayed answers create unbelief in your heart. Clear out doubt, bitterness, and discouragement—they’re weeds that can choke your harvest. Forgive those who have hurt you, release offenses, and make room in your life for God’s abundance. Like farmers who prepare barns before harvest, prepare your heart to receive what God has promised. Align your life with God’s Word, stay connected to His presence through worship and prayer, and surround yourself with faith-filled believers. This month’s theme of harvest and breakthrough isn’t just motivational language—it’s prophetic declaration over your life. Stand firm in faith, knowing that God who has heard your prayers is faithful to bring forth fruit from every seed you’ve planted in obedience and faith.
This Week Declaration:
This week, I declare that God hears my prayers and is moving on my behalf. I will not be discouraged by delays or distracted by challenges. Every prayer I’ve prayed is recorded in heaven, and divine answers are being released over my life. I declare breakthrough in my family, finances, health, and ministry. The harvest I’ve been waiting for is coming forth with joy and abundance. I refuse to give up or give in—I will watch expectantly for the Lord’s intervention. This is my week of supernatural favor, unexpected provision, and miraculous turnarounds. I declare that closed doors are opening, impossible situations are becoming possible, and God’s promises over my life are manifesting. I am entering my season of harvest and breakthrough, and nothing can stop what God has ordained for me. My God hears me, and He acts swiftly on my behalf!
This Week Reflection:
As we reflect on Micah 7:7 this week, let’s consider how we approach prayer in difficult seasons. Micah’s confidence wasn’t based on favorable circumstances—his nation faced judgment and moral decay. Yet he chose to look to the Lord, wait for the God of his salvation, and declare with certainty that God would hear him. This challenges us to examine our prayer posture. Do we pray with resignation or expectation? Do we doubt God’s hearing, or do we confidently trust His attentiveness? This week, reflect on the prayers you’ve prayed over recent months. Instead of focusing on unanswered prayers, celebrate God’s faithfulness in answered ones. Remember seasons when God came through unexpectedly. Let those testimonies strengthen your faith for current situations. God’s track record in your life proves His commitment to you. As October closes and we transition into November, carry Micah’s declaration as your personal anthem: “My God will hear me.”
Self Examination:
Take time this week to examine your heart honestly before God. Ask yourself: Have I maintained faith during this waiting season, or have I allowed disappointment to breed unbelief? Am I truly waiting expectantly, or have I resigned myself to defeat? Have I continued praying with fervor, or has my prayer life become routine and powerless? Examine whether unforgiveness, bitterness, or unresolved sin is hindering your prayers. James 5:16 reminds us that “the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” Righteousness here isn’t perfection—it’s living in right relationship with God through confession, repentance, and obedience.
Consider whether you’re positioning yourself to receive God’s harvest. Are you still sowing in obedience even while waiting for past harvests? Are you stewarding well what God has already given you? Examine your declarations—are your words aligning with God’s promises or contradicting them through negative confession? Finally, ask yourself: Do I truly believe that God hears my prayers? Your answer to this question will determine your persistence in prayer, your peace during waiting, and your expectation for breakthrough. If doubt has crept in, repent and return to the confidence of Micah: “My God will hear me.”
Conclusion:
As we conclude this powerful month of God’s harvest and breakthrough, let Micah 7:7 be the anchor for your faith going forward. In every season—whether planting or harvesting, waiting or receiving—maintain this unwavering confidence: God hears your prayers. He isn’t deaf to your cries, indifferent to your struggles, or distant from your pain. He is near, attentive, and actively working on your behalf. The breakthroughs you’ve been praying for are not cancelled; they’re being prepared in God’s perfect timing.
This last Sunday of October 2025 marks not an ending but a launching point into greater dimensions of God’s faithfulness. The harvest you’ve waited for is within reach. The breakthrough you’ve prayed for is at hand. Stand firm in faith, refuse to waver in unbelief, and keep your eyes fixed on the God of your salvation. He has heard every prayer, collected every tear, and He will surely bring forth fruit from your faithfulness. Go forward this week with confidence, expectation, and joy, knowing that your God hears you and will answer according to His perfect will and timing. Your season of harvest has come!
