Sermon Topic: Walk in Victory

August 10, 2025

Introduction

Main Bible Verse:

“With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.” Psalm 18:29

Hello everyone! This month is special. We call it our Month of Walking in Victory. Today we learn that God wants us to win, not lose. When King David wrote these words, he knew something important: we don’t win because we are strong. We win because God helps us.

David could fight big armies and climb high walls with God’s help. We can beat our problems too when God is with us. This August, we won’t walk in sadness or fear. We will walk knowing that Jesus already won for us. Every day we can say, “My God makes hard things possible. He makes me strong when I am weak. He turns my fights into stories about how good He is.”

When we walk with God, nothing can stop us. He is bigger than any problem we face.

This Week’s Focus: Deuteronomy 23:14 (MSG)

“God, your God, strolls through your camp; he’s present to deliver you and give you victory over your enemies. Keep your camp holy; don’t permit anything indecent or offensive in God’s eyes.”

Thisb Bible verse tells us something amazing! God doesn’t stay far away from us. He walks through our camp. This means He comes close to us. He wants to be near us when we have problems.

God walks with us for two good reasons. First, He saves us and helps us beat our enemies. Every hard time we face, every sad feeling, every money problem – God walks through these things with power to help us. When He is with us, our battles become parties celebrating how we won.

Second, He wants us to live good lives. Winning isn’t just about what God does for us. It’s also about who we become. When we keep our hearts clean and do what’s right, God’s power can work better in our lives. Living good isn’t about following lots of rules. It’s about loving God so much that we want to make Him happy.

This week, let’s do both things: receive God’s help and keep our hearts clean so He can stay close to us.

Four Ways to Win:

1. Victory Over Fear – 2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Fear is one of our biggest enemies. It tells us lies about tomorrow. It makes our problems look bigger than they are. It stops us from trusting God. But God’s Word says that fear does not come from God. Every worried thought, every sleepless night, every doubt – these are not gifts from God.

God gave us three things to fight fear. Power means God’s special strength that can do miracles. When you feel weak, remember that the same power that brought Jesus back to life lives in you. Love pushes fear away. God loves you so much that you can feel safe and secure. Sound mind  means clear thinking and calm emotions.

We beat fear by choosing what God gave us instead of what the devil tries to give us. Today, say no to fear. Step into the power, love, and clear thinking that are already yours because you belong to Jesus.

Fear may knock on your door, but you don’t have to let it in. God has given you everything you need to be brave.

2. Triumph in Trials – James 1:2-4

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

This part of the Bible changes how we think about hard times. James doesn’t say if you have problems, but when you have them. Everyone has hard times, but not everyone has to lose.

God uses hard times like a gym where our faith gets stronger. Every test you go through makes you able to keep going no matter what happens. This ability to keep going makes you grow up in your faith and become complete. You won’t be missing anything.

Think of hard times as pure joy – not because the problem makes you happy, but because you know the good thing it will bring. Every hard time is a chance for God to show how faithful He is and for you to become more like Jesus.

The problems you have today will become the good stories you tell tomorrow. The struggles that seem too big are actually making you stronger. Walk through this time knowing you will win because God never wastes your pain.

3. Authority in the Name of Jesus – Luke 10:19

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

This Bible verse shows us something powerful: Jesus has already given you authority over the enemy’s power. This isn’t something that might happen someday – it’s true right now. You don’t earn this authority by being perfect or praying long prayers. You have it because you belong to Jesus.

When Jesus talks about stepping on snakes and scorpions, He means spiritual fighting against Satan’s tricks. Just like Jesus gave His followers power over demons, He has given you supernatural authority to beat every plan of the enemy. Money problems, relationship troubles, health issues, sad feelings – none of these get the last word in your life.

Nothing will harm you doesn’t mean you’ll never have problems. It means nothing can beat you in the end. The enemy might cause temporary trouble, but he cannot destroy your future. Your authority comes through Jesus’ name – the name that is above every other name.

Stop begging God for victory and start using the authority He already gave you. Speak to your problems with confidence, knowing that heaven supports every word you speak in faith through Jesus’ name.

4. Peace as a Sign of Victory – Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Peace isn’t having no problems – it’s having God with you when everything is crazy. This special peace acts like a guard for your heart and mind, like soldiers protecting a city. When God’s peace watches over your feelings and thoughts, worry cannot get in.

The way to get this peace has three parts: prayer  (talking to God), petition (asking for specific things), and thanksgiving (being grateful for how faithful God is). Notice that you thank God before you see the answer. This shows faith that trusts God no matter what.

This peace doesn’t make sense to people who don’t know God. People will wonder how you stay calm in storms, happy in hard times, and confident when things are uncertain. Your peace shows others that God is good and that victory is already yours.

When you walk in this peace, you show that the battle is won before it’s fought. Your calm spirit in tough times tells everyone that your God is bigger than any problem you face.

This Week’s Thinking Time :

As we keep going through this Month of Walking in Victory, we need to stop and think about how God’s truth is changing our daily life. Thinking isn’t just looking back – it’s understanding our experiences through God’s Word so we can be wiser in future battles.

Think about how fear worked in your life this week. Did you notice times when worry tried to grab your heart? How did you respond? Did you quickly remember God’s promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, or did you let fear control your thoughts? We grow when we honestly look at how we respond and choose to line up better with God’s truth.

Think about the hard times you faced recently. Maybe they seemed like setbacks, interruptions to your plans, or proof that God forgot about you. But James 1:2-4 helps us see every difficulty as a chance to grow. What if the very thing you’ve been praying to go away is God’s tool to make you mature and complete? This new way of thinking changes victims into winners.

Look at how you’ve been using the authority Jesus gave you. Have you been speaking with confidence about your situations, or have you been passive, hoping things will change without you doing anything? Luke 10:19 shows that you have supernatural authority right now – not someday when you’re more spiritual, but today as someone who believes in Jesus.

Finally, check the level of peace in your life. Philippians 4:6-7 promises that God’s peace will guard your heart and mind, but this requires intentional prayer and thanksgiving. Have you been fighting for peace, or have you been fighting against worry?

Check Yourself:

This time of checking yourself isn’t about feeling bad – it’s about honest looking that leads to change. God’s Word is like a mirror, showing us places where His victory can flow better through our lives.

Question 1:What fears have I been thinking about that go against God’s gift of power, love, and clear thinking? Fear often pretends to be wisdom, but when it stops our faith or steals our joy, it shows its true source.

Question 2: How have I been seeing my current hard times? Am I seeing them as proof that God is absent or as chances for His presence to be shown?

Question 3: Am I actively using the spiritual authority Jesus gave me, or am I living like a victim? Authority not used is authority given up.

Question 4: What proof of God’s supernatural peace can people see in my life? Others should see something different about how you respond to stress and uncertainty.

Question 5: How has my understanding of victory changed this month? Are you starting to see victory as something real now rather than just a future hope?

Conclusion:

As we finish today’s message, remember that walking in victory isn’t a place you get to – it’s a way of life. Every day gives you new chances to show that we serve a winning King who has already made sure we triumph.

Victory over fear through power, love, and clear thinking. Winning in trials by understanding why they happen. Authority in Jesus’ name to beat every enemy plan. Peace as proof that God guards our hearts and minds. These aren’t far-away promises – they’re real things available to every believer who chooses to walk in faith instead of fear.

This week, let Deuteronomy 23:14 remind you that God walks through your camp, bringing rescue and victory. His presence turns ordinary moments into special meetings with Him. As you live good and welcome His presence, you create a place where miracles become normal and victory becomes expected.

Go knowing that you’re not walking toward victory – you’re walking in victory that Jesus already accomplished. You are a winner because you belong to the ultimate Winner.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You with hearts full of thanks for the victory You already won for us. Thank You for walking through our camp, bringing rescue and winning over every enemy that tries to fight us.

Lord, we receive Your gift of power, love, and clear thinking, and we say no to every spirit of fear that tries to steal our joy and stop our faith. Help us see our hard times through Your eyes – as chances to grow and show how faithful You are.

We accept the authority You gave us in Jesus’ name. Help us use this authority with wisdom and boldness, speaking Your truth over every situation. May we never forget that we’re not victims but winners.

Fill us with Your supernatural peace that guards our hearts and minds. When worry tries to get into our thoughts, may we immediately turn to prayer and thanksgiving, knowing that You hear and answer.

Lord, make us living examples of Your goodness. Let others see something different in how we handle challenges and how we stay joyful in hard times. Use our lives to encourage those who are struggling. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, dear friends, that victory isn’t decided by your circumstances but by your relationship with Jesus, who already beat the world. Every morning you wake up is another chance to show that faith beats fear, hope conquers sadness, and love defeats hate.

Don’t measure your progress by being perfect but by moving forward. Are you moving toward greater faith and deeper trust in God’s promises? That’s victory happening. Some days feel like big steps, other days like baby steps – but every step forward matters.

Stay around people who speak life, not death; who say you’ll win, not lose. Protect your heart from negative voices that say things that disagree with what God says about you and your future. You are chosen, loved, and meant to win.

Your victory story is still being written, and God holds the pen. Trust Him completely with your life. God bless you abundantly.
