Sermon Topic: Running Through Troops and Leaping Over Walls
Date – 17.06.2026
Praise the Lord! Welcome to Day Three! You made it to the final morning of our 3-Days Early Morning Fasting Prayer. Praise the Lord! You have sacrificed your sleep, you have humbled your flesh, and you have remained faithful to the very end. Give yourself a moment to recognize what you have accomplished by God’s grace. It is not an easy thing to wake up while it is still dark, deny your body food, and offer your morning hours as a living sacrifice to the King of Kings.
On Day One, we looked at the beautiful truth that God holds our right hand when our feet are about to slip. We learned that even when our emotions are shaking, His grip on our life remains firm, steady, and unbreakable. On Day Two, we looked at the story of Ananias and Saul, and we learned to arise and go in bold, immediate obedience. We learned that when we step out in faith despite our human fears, spiritual scales fall off people’s eyes and supernatural sight is restored.
Today, on this glorious Day Three, God is bringing us to the peak of the mountain. He is giving us the final keys to ultimate victory. Our scripture for this closing morning of prayer is 2 Samuel 22:30. This is a powerful song of victory written by King David at the end of his life. After years of running away from his enemies, hiding out in dark caves, surviving betrayals, and facing massive opposing armies, David looked back at everything God had brought him through and shouted this glorious praise:
“For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.”
And in the The Message (MSG) translation
“I smash the bands of marauders, I vault the high fences.”
Special Encouragement for Day Three
My dear brothers and sisters, look at the person sitting next to you right now, look them in the eyes, and tell them with a big smile: “You made it! You are a conqueror!”
This is the third morning, the final lap of our race. Your physical body might feel completely empty today. Your stomach might be grumbling, your mouth might feel dry, and your flesh might be whispering that it is time to give up and go eat. But I want your human spirit to be completely full of holy expectation right now.
In the word of God, Day Three is always a highly prophetic and powerful day.
- It was on the third day that Abraham looked up and saw Mount Moriah, the place of ultimate sacrifice and supernatural provision.
- It was on the third day that Moses went up to Mount Sinai and the glory of God came down in the sight of all the people.
- It was on the third day that Queen Esther put on her royal robes, stood before the king, and saved her entire nation from total destruction.
- And most importantly, it was on the third day that our Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead, broke the chains of the grave, and defeated Satan forever!
Day Three is traditionally the day of resurrection, the day of final deliverance, and the day where hidden things finally come to light. The heavy, difficult work of fasting is almost finished, and now it is time to collect your spiritual harvest.
Do not let the physical tiredness of these past three days make you sluggish or lazy in your prayers this morning. The finish line is right in front of you. This is the exact moment to press in with everything you have inside your heart. The troops of problems that have been chasing you all month are about to be defeated. The thick walls of limitation that have blocked your family for generations are about to be broken down. Raise your spiritual gaze, open your mouth, and get ready to praise God for the victory that is already yours!

Breaking Through the Enemy’s Troops
Let us look deeply at the first part of King David’s declaration: “For by you I can run against a troop.” In the Message translation, it says, “I smash the bands of marauders.”
A “troop” or a “band of marauders” means a large, organized group of heavily armed, violent soldiers whose only goal is to attack, steal, kill, and destroy. Marauders are thieves who wait for you to build a good life, and then they swoop in to steal your harvest. Imagine standing completely alone on a dirt battlefield. You look up at the horizon, and you see an entire army of hundreds of enemy soldiers marching directly toward you with shields, spears, and sharp swords.
In the natural world, running toward a troop by yourself is absolute suicide. Your human mind, your logic, and your natural instincts would tell you to turn around, run away as fast as you can, and find a cave to hide in. Fear would paralyze your legs.
But David says under the supernatural inspiration of the Holy Spirit, “I can run against a troop.” He didn’t say he would run away from them; he said he would run at them! He didn’t say he would compromise with them; he said he would smash them!
What are the troops facing you this morning? What are the bands of marauders that have been trying to attack your peace?
- For some of you, it is a troop of financial debts that keep piling up no matter how hard you work.
- For others, it is a troop of family problems, arguments, court cases, or a sudden physical sickness that the doctors say cannot be cured.
- Sometimes, the enemy sends an invisible troop of depressing thoughts, anxiety, fear, and bad dreams early in the morning to tell you that you will never succeed, that you are a failure, and that your life will end in shame.
But when you fast and pray, something changes in the spiritual realm. God infuses your inner spirit with supernatural, holy courage. You no longer have to live your life in fear, hiding in the dark from your problems. Because God is on your side, you can face your fears head-on. You can look directly at that mountain of debt, that chronic sickness, or that broken relationship and say, “In the name of Jesus, I am not running away anymore. Today, I am marching forward, and you cannot stop me!” When you run with God, the enemy’s troop is the one that has to turn around and flee!

Leaping Over Every Wall of Limitation
The second part of the verse says: “and by my God I can leap over a wall.” The Message translation beautifully says, “I vault the high fences.”
Walls and high fences are built for two specific reasons: to keep good things out or to trap you inside a small, limited space. A wall represents a barrier, a dead end, a blockage, or a human limitation. Have you ever felt like your life was completely blocked by an invisible wall? You try to move forward in your career, but you hit a glass ceiling. You try to fix your marriage with love, but you hit a brick wall of cold anger. You try to save money for your children, but a sudden emergency builds a giant wall of lack right in front of your face.
When you look at a high wall with your human eyes, it looks completely impossible to cross. You look at it and realize you don’t have a ladder, you don’t have ropes, and you aren’t physically strong enough to climb over it. You feel stuck, trapped, and defeated in the same old position.
But notice what David says: “by my God I can leap over a wall.” He doesn’t say he will sit down at the bottom of the wall and cry. He doesn’t say he will wait for years for someone to build a door. He says he will leap right over it! He will vaultover the high fences!
Fasting and prayer lift your spiritual feet up above your human limitations. What you cannot walk through in your own power, God will help you jump completely over by His power! God is about to give you a fresh, supernatural anointing to bypass, outrun, and climb over the obstacles that have kept you stuck in the same position for years.
Where the world says, “There is no way out,” God is going to create a supernatural pathway through the air. The barriers of generational poverty, chronic illness, academic failure, and constant disappointment are being leaped over this very morning. You are going higher, over the fence, into the wide-open space of God’s blessings!

The Secret is “By My God”
If you look closely at this verse, David uses two very important, distinct phrases: “by you” and “by my God.”
We must remember who David was. David was a mighty warrior, a brilliant king, and a national hero. He was the young boy who killed the giant Goliath with a single stone. He was a master of the sword, an expert in military strategy, and he had thousands of highly trained, loyal soldiers ready to die for him. If anyone had a right to brag about his own strength, it was King David.
But David did not say, “By my sharp sword I ran through a troop,” or “By my strong army I climbed over a wall.” He did not credit his education, his talents, his money, or his political connections. He knew that his human strength was completely useless against the deep spiritual battles of life. The entire secret to his victory, his survival, and his success was God’s power working inside his human weakness.
During these three days, you have intentionally made your physical body weak. You have said no to food, no to comfort, and no to sleep. Why? So that God’s supernatural power can become strong inside your spirit! When you pray on an empty stomach, you are sending a clear message to the heavens. You are telling the Lord, “Lord, I cannot fix this problem by my own intelligence. I cannot change my child’s heart with my own words. I cannot heal my body with my own hands. But by my God, it shall be done!”
When you leave this morning prayer meeting today, break your fast, and go back to your normal daily life, do not go back in your own human strength. Do not rely on your own wisdom. Go in the raw power of the Holy Spirit. When a fresh problem arises at your job or in your home tomorrow, don’t panic. Just close your eyes, take a deep breath, and remind yourself: “I am not facing this army alone. By my God, I am going to smash this obstacle. By my God, I am going over this wall!”

Your Story Ends in a Song of Victory
Look at the context of this verse. David sang this entire song to the Lord on the day the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of King Saul. This verse was written after the battle was already won. David was looking backward at the dangerous roads he traveled, and he was realizing that every single time he thought he was going to die, God gave him the power to jump over the fence and smash the enemy.
This morning, God is giving you a prophetic preview of your own future. The three days of crying, fasting, and sacrificing are concluding, but your season of celebration is just beginning. You are about to write your own song of victory.
Think about the testimonies you will share next week, next month, and next year. You will look back at this specific morning in June 2026, and you will say, “I remember when the enemy sent a troop of sickness to destroy my life, but by my God, I ran through it! I remember when a giant wall of financial ruin stood in front of my family, but by my God, I leaped right over it!” Your current struggle is going to become your greatest sermon. Your current test is turning into your most powerful testimony.
Conclusion and Call to Prayer
My dear brothers and sisters, this is the grand finale of our 3-day spiritual journey. God has been so faithful to us. He heard your prayers and wiped your hidden tears on Day One. He guided your steps, removed your fears, and called you by name on Day Two. And now, on this final Day Three, He is handing you the keys to total, absolute breakthrough.
The troops of darkness that tried to intimidate you and keep you awake at night are being scattered to the four winds right now. The thick walls of opposition, limitation, and delay that tried to block your progress are being brought completely down to the ground like the walls of Jericho. You are not leaving this building today as a tired victim of life’s circumstances. You are walking out of those doors as a mighty, unstoppable conqueror through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Let us stand up on our feet all across this sanctuary for the very last time in this fasting meeting. Take your neighbor by the hand if you can, or simply lift both of your hands high toward the heavens. Let us open our mouths, release all our remaining energy, and give God a mighty, thunderous shout of praise, because the battle is over and the victory is already won!
Day Three Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, we praise You! We worship You, we honor You, and we magnify Your holy name for giving us the supernatural grace, health, and endurance to complete these three days of early morning fasting and prayer. Lord, You have been our anchor, our shield, and our rock from the very first morning we gathered here.
We stand on the authority of Your holy word today, and we declare over our lives, over our children, over our marriages, and over our futures that by You, we are running through every single troop of the enemy! No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Every marauding army of debt, every spirit of sickness, every cloud of fear, and every voice of confusion must pack its bags and flee from our lives right now in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ!
Lord, we thank You that by Your divine, supernatural power, we are leaping over every wall of limitation today. Every door that was locked by human hands or demonic forces is being blown wide open by the wind of the Holy Spirit this morning. Grant us fresh strength in our legs and in our spirits to scale every barrier, vault every high fence, and step boldly into the glorious, prosperous future You have planned for us.
As we break this fast today and return to our homes, we pray that the fire of this morning prayer altar would remain burning brightly inside our hearts. Let Your blessings, Your favor, and Your unexpected miracles overflow in our households. We seal every prayer item, every tear dropped at this altar, and every spiritual breakthrough in the precious, powerful name of Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for the total, complete, and permanent victory!
In Jesus’ mighty, majestic, and victorious name we pray, and all God’s people said together: Amen! Amen! and Amen! Have a blessed day ahead in Jesus’s Name. God bless abundantly.
